Dear NFB,

A former filmmaker has recently alleged that the Canadian public film industry has been infected by a culture of racial discrimination. The allegation involves both a film proposal being denied after the filmmaker was told that “now is not a time for stories about white men”, as well as a broad worry among documentarians over having proposals denied for being “too white.”

Students for Western Civilisation calls on Commissioner and Chairperson Mr. Claude Joli-Coeur, the NFB Board of Trustees, and the Management Team to use their power to investigate these alleged claims of anti-white discrimination and, more generally, to ensure against such discriminatory practices by its partner-organizations in future.

We thank NFB’s leaders for their attention on this matter and look forward to working with the NFB in future.

Sincerely,

Students for Western Civilisation
